David Rusiecki is the president of New Voices Playwrights Theatre. A member since 2009, he has contributed to New Voices Playwrights Theatre as a writer, director, actor and co-producer. Currently a member with the Playwrights’ Center and the Orange County Theatre Guild, he has also served as head of the New Works Festival Literary Committee/Board of Trustees Member with the Long Beach Playhouse.
His full-length play Sides was selected for the Long Beach Playhouse New Works table-read series in 2008 while in the same year his full-length …Prep… received honorable mention in Panndora Productions’ second annual festival of new play readings.
His one-act play Kid Gloves (originally entitled Have A Nice Day) has been published in The Best American Short Plays 2012-2013 (Applause Books) as well as in Best Monologues from Best American Short Plays (Applause Books). His one-act play Long Time Coming was published in The Best American Short Plays 2014-2015 (Applause Books).
Other one-act plays produced by New Voices Playwrights Theatre include Mistle-in-Tow at Stages Theatre (Fullerton, CA) along with Two-Some, A Fake Christmas, The Big 3-0, $ecret $anta, Long Time Coming, Holiday Hoo-Ha, Return To Sender, Have A Nice Day, Last Call at Stage Door Repertory Theatre (Anaheim, CA).
Other full-length works which received staged readings include Groupie at Theatre Out (Santa Ana, CA) as well as Scattered Showers, The Wrecking Ball and Goon at Stage Door Repertory Theatre.
